Biography

Totally self-taught, Paul Kedward’s work has evolved through a love of wood and a lifetime’s keen observation of wildlife and familiarity with its anatomy. Most creatures are seen fleetingly at close range, one only being left with a general impression of size & shape.

Using the beauty of a solid piece of old Mahogany, he captures these subtleties in a distinctive style without additional colour or needless detail.

The Mahogany used is either reclaimed or from managed, certified reserves, hand carved and finished with French polish. Some are then mounted onto an equally unique sandblasted piece, offering a comfortable resting place for these incredible forms.

Paul Kedwards has modestly and successfully carved out his own unmistakeable niche creating stunning & beautiful sculptures, in a style simply comparable to no other.
